About Ensemble Auditu Dignum
The Renaissance music theorist Johannes Tinctoris wrote in 1477 in his Liber de arte contrapuncti that no music older than 40 years was “worthy of being heard” (auditu dignum).
This statement caught our attention as performers dedicated to the historically informed performance of early music. Driven by the opposite belief that the quality of this music can still captivate audiences today, the ensemble Auditu Dignum was formed, consisting of six musicians who met at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
In 2024, we were awarded the first prize at the 25th Biagio-Marini Competition in Neuburg, and we are delighted to share this achievement with our audience.
